  • School Physician School Physician position available November 1, 2017 for Medford Public Schools. Applicant must hold a valid license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and knowledge about the health needs of children and adolescents. Additional preferred qualifications include Board Certification in the areas of Pediatrics, Family Practice or Adolescent Medicine and an active practice or significant connection to the City of Medford. Scope of Responsibilities: The school physician contracts with the school department to provide medical expertise and consultation in the development and implementation of the comprehensive school health program.   • Paraprofessional: Therapeutic Learning Program (Columbus Elementary and Andrews Middle School) Paraprofessional with behavior intervention experience: Elementary paraprofessional position. Applicant must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, Baccalaureate degree preferred. Training and experience in working with students with significant social-emotional-behavioral disabilities preferred. The paraprofessional will work to support students with disabilities who learn best when taught using a social emotional learning approach. Experience with implementation of behavior support plans, specialized curriculum, and curriculum modifications required.   • Paraprofessionals (Medford High School, Roberts Elementary) Classroom Assistant positions. Applicant must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, Baccalaureate degree preferred. Chosen paraprofessional will support a cohort of students with disabilities. Duties include: working with general and special education teachers to develop and prepare instructional materials; support students in gaining academic, organizational, and social skills, with a focus on increased independence; assist teachers in collecting and maintaining data on students’ progress.   • School Year 2017-18: The Medford Public Schools Afterschool Program has four site locations: Brooks School, Columbus School, McGlynn School and Roberts School. We need group leaders and assistant group leaders. Positions available in expanding afterschool programs. Schedule Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 2:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Wed 1:30 p.m. – 6 p.m. Group Leader receives an additional one-half hour for prep. Experience with children K-5 is preferred. Activities include homework time, free play, gym and outdoor time, activity time, i.e., art, science. School Year Schedule.   • Adult Education Electrical III Teacher Medford Technical Institute, located at Medford Technical High School is looking for an adult education teacher for the fall and winter semester. The candidate should possess the required license from the MA Division of Professional Licensure. This course is for Electrical III standards.   • Special Education Teacher: Middle School Inclusion Support Program– Teach and case manage students requiring specialized supports within the general education classroom and small group setting. The program goal is to provide students with the skill instruction they need to be successful within a full or partial inclusion program. Applicant must hold a Massachusetts Moderate Disabilities PK-8 or Moderate Disabilities 5-12 license, an additional general education content license is preferred. Substitute Teachers

Medford Public Schools utilizes the AESOP online substitute placement and absent management service.

Substitute teachers for preschool through grade 8 are needed for daily on-call basis to fill in for teacher absences. Interested applicants should email a cover letter and resume to subteachers@medford.k12.ma.us.
