iPad and Apple TV Updates

It is very important to keep your iPad and Apple TV up to date for optimal performance and for security reasons.

Allison will usually send out an email alerting school staff about updates for the iPad and Apple TV. However, you can also check on your own by going to Settings, General, Software Update on both devices. You will have a message that tells you an update is available or that your software is up to date.

To update your software:

On your iPad, go to Settings, General, and Software Update. If your iPad is up to date, it will tell you. If not, you can download and install the available update. It’s recommended to update the iPad at home to save network resources.

On your Apple TV, make sure your projector is on so you can see the Apple TV home screen (you might have to switch the source from your desktop computer). Take your remote control, go to Settings, then General, then Update Software.

App Updates

You are responsible for keeping your iPad’s apps up to date. You can do this by going to the App Store and tapping on updates. There will be a list there of apps that need to be updated. You will also notice the App Store icon might have a red number on it; this indicates how many apps you need to update.

Generally speaking, if your iPad needs to be updated, several of your apps will follow with updates of their own.

Keeping apps up to date is critical for performance and security reasons.
