State Ethics Compliance
Below is a summary of the State Ethics Policy and Conflict of Interest Law for Municipal Employees, which include Fire, Police, Public Works, School Employees, Elected Officials, Boards and Commissions that provide a service to the City.
State law mandates that every public employee must read the State Ethics Policy and Conflict of Interest Law and complete the online certification.
Links to the document and to the online certification quiz are provided below.
You must read the summary, print out the last page (page 10), sign it, and return it to your building principal.
You must also take the examination for certification on the State Ethics Commission website. After the certification is granted, please print and return a copy of the certification to your building principal.
System-wide personnel should return both of these forms to the Office of the Superintendent.

Important! Read this if You are Taking the Online Quiz on a Computer Used by Others
When multiple users attempt to complete the current training program using the same computer they may experience a problem accessing the beginning of the program. The user will need to open their internet browser, click on “Tools,” then “Internet Options,” select “Delete Cookies,” then click “OK.” The user will be able to click back on the Online Training module on the Commission’s website and start at the beginning.
