Dear Students and Families:

I am very pleased to have been appointed as the Assistant Principal of the Andrews Middle School. Mr. Blake and I strongly believe that education is a partnership between school and home. We are looking forward to working with all of you to ensure a successful and productive year for all our students.

We hope you share the enthusiasm we are experiencing as we opened the school year with a very smooth start. Teachers and students have been extremely busy delving into a rich and demanding curriculum. Your support at home is key in your child’s success at school. Please make sure your child is doing homework on a regular basis. While homework should not be over-bearing, an hour and a half should be the expected norm.

At this time, your child has received a Parent Student Handbook. It is very important for all families to read through the Parent Student Handbook. The Handbook itself explains district policies, the attendance policy, the tardiness policy, the discipline code, and many other topics. The Parent Student Handbook allows our school to maintain a high set of expectations. At the same time it allows us to educate in a safe, comfortable learning environment for all of our students to learn.

If you have any questions or concerns with which I may assist you, please do not hesitate to contact me by email pdalleva@medford.k12.ma.us, or phone, 781-393-2228 x7720. I look forward to meeting and talking with you throughout the school year.

Sincerely,

Paul D’Alleva
