New MBTA Charlie Card Process for the Summer

We are pleased to announce that beginning this summer, all 2016-2017 academic school year Student Charlie cards will remain active through August 31, 2017. This will allow all students with an active Student Charlie card full access to the MBTA at reduced fares over the summer months.

Effective at midnight on June 30, 2017 all M7 Charlie cards and Student Stored value Charlie cards (s-Card) that are active, will both FUNCTION as a Stored Value S-Card, Giving Students the ability to load both their M7 and S-card with stored value (pay per ride) or a monthly pass at MBTA Fare Vending Machine(FVM) located at any MBTA subway station.

Medford schools is opting out of administering cards during the summer months when school is not in session. If a card is lost over the summer, there are no replacement cards and you will be responsible to obtain a new card.

Students! It is highly recommended that you use all the stored Value (pay per Ride) down to zero $0.00 before August 31, 2017 so you don’t lose any funds.

New M7 Cards will be available in the Business Office beginning September 2017 for the new School Year. Have a safe and happy summer vacation!
